The Arrangement
No Contracts, No Quotas, No House Favourite
Most fitting operations sign volume agreements. In exchange for committing to move a certain amount
of product they get better pricing, early access to demo stock, and marketing support. It is a
perfectly normal way to run a golf business and it is not dishonest.
It does, however, create a pull. When a quarter is running behind on one brand's numbers, that brand
gets recommended a little more often. Nobody decides to do this; it happens the way water finds a
slope.
We opted out. We buy components as we need them at ordinary trade pricing, which costs us a few
percent on every order and means our demo stock lags a season behind the shops that signed. In return,
when we tell you a head is right for you, there is no second reason underneath the first one.
The question we can answer honestly is which of these works for you. We would not
be able to answer it if one of them owed us a discount.
